2004 - A Year of Literary Anniversaries "history is a nightmare from which I am trying to awake" - James Joyce "To remember everything is a form of madness" - Brian Friel The year 2004 brings with it a number of literary anniversaries. The biggest of these for scholars of Irish literature will be the centenary of Bloomsday and the foundation of the Abbey Theatre.
